electronic dog collarWhen you brought home a dog for your family, you probably had visions similar to scenes from television.  What you wanted was a dog who would be your child’s best friend and protector.

If that’s not a description of reality of your dog in your family – you’re not alone.

According to the National Animal Interest Alliance about 4 million dogs enter shelters each year.  Of those 4 million, 1.8 million are estimated to be owner surrenders… meaning owners taking their dogs to the shelter.

In many cases, perfectly healthy dogs with good temperament are surrendered to shelters because they were not properly trained!

Establishing good dog behavior requires training and electronic dog collars can make training your dog easy!

For some dog behavior problems, the ONLY solution is an electronic training collar.  Whether you’re trying to stop your dog from chasing cars – a bad habit which can result in death – or trying to train your dog not to jump up on guests… a remote training collar is by far the easiest and most effective dog training tool.

Electronic dog collars are also referred to as remote training collars.  Unlike a traditional training collar, an electronic training collar allows you to instantly correct or reward behaviors in your dog FROM A DISTANCE!   Your dog will learn that good behavior will be rewarded – and bad behavior will be corrected – whether or not you’re caryring a leash!!!

This  instantaneous and remote feedback allows your dog to learn quickly.  This type of training also leads to better communication between dog and owner.  As a result, you’ll find you and your dog form a closer bond.
Electronic dog collars are useful dog training tools. The electric volt submitted by these collars is nothing more than the “shock” you receive from static electricity. The  “training” that happens with an electronic dog collar is based on your dog being startled by the sensation – it is NOT based upon pain.
You can aksi effectively train your dog to stop certain behaviors by throwing your keys at your dog.  As long as your dog is standing on a tile floor – and the keys act to startle the dog and disrupt the behavior.

Did you catch the conditions of using your key ring to effectively train your dog?  First, your dog must be standing on a hard surface… because it’s the clatter of the keys hitting the floor that startles your dog.  Then, the distraction must disrupt the behavior.  You can’t toss your keys at your dog AFTER he’s eaten tonight’s supper  off the counter.  If you wait until your dog has finished eating and  gone to his crate for an after dinner snack  – well, it’s too late.  You MUST disrupt your dog as he’s misbehaving.

So in order for the “tossing keys” training method to work effectively – your dog has to misbehave while on a hard surface.  With an electronic training collar – there’s not the limiting factor of where the bad behavior is happening.  Whether you’re on tile or in the back yard – an electronic training collar can deliver the disruption to the bad behavior safely and effectively.

Remember, you’re using a training collar to shape your dog’s behavior.   Just as in humans – the hard part is establishing the “habit” of good behavior in your dog.  It takes a lot of training to get the habit established – but it’s surprisingly effortless to maintain the good behavior you worked so hard to create.
